Focus This time
1. Review of membership drive.
We reviewed the membership drive which covered almost all active IEEE chapters in and around Mumbai. We received very encouraging response from the IEEE, VESIT (Vivekanand Education) cell. They have agreed to participate in all our activities and cater to our resource requirements.
Other IEEE cells haven’t responded and seem to be gripped by the exam fever which will end by June 12.
We plan to replay the membership drive post June 12. Expect co-operation from all members.
2. E-governance projects
We spoke to Prof. Neerja about any leads for government projects, but said that her busy schedule and un-availability of key officers during her tour hindered the efforts. She has assured she’ll continue to keep a watch for good projects and also volunteered to connect SP Jain students to our movement.
3. Formalization of meeting venue.
We have requested the SP Jain institute to formalize the institute as a venue for monthly SCG meetings.
Request other members to participate in the monthly SCG meetings and also help in these initiatives.
4. Website Upgrade and changes.
Most importantly we discussed major design changes to SCG website. The design was finalized with changes to be decided in due course of time. A list of services, trainings that SCG could offer was chalked out. We are yet to make the final changes, so members are requested to pool in their suggestions.
Currently our core focus is
A. More members. (Affiliation with student bodies like IEEE, CSI e.t.c.)
B. Projects. (SCG website upgrade, client database, meetings e.t.c.)
